When Tokoween had first been announced, Midnight knew he would defiantly not enjoy all the festivities. That with all the immature handlers and tokotas running around like crazed animals, he had made a mental note to steer clear of the activities all together.

How had that worked out for him?... Not very well. On September 28th, he had attempted to start backing up only to be cornered by Annabelle and Primbee, both girls refusing to allow him the privilege of leaving and avoiding the chaos to come. And so, he had been forced to stay and endure. And endure he had. When everything had started, he had went about it with deaf ears, keeping to himself and just being quiet. Then his attempts had faltered when he heard of a specific activity. A trackdown of sorts… To track down a dire half mane tokota by the name of Oogie Boogie. The trackers would have to follow him into an untamed forest and try and retrieve him before anyone else did. Oddly enough, it sounded like a pretty mature-filtered game for Midnight, and so he had signed up.

And that was how he had gotten himself and Pitsiark into this situation. Below him, the dire tensed and shifted uncomfortably. Obviously, she did not want to be here and doing this, but the fact that she seemed to be wanting to please Midnight had worked in his favor to get her to be a good mount and allow him to ride her into this competition.

In the dark forest, the light from Pitsiark’s pumpkin lantern was the only thing that lit their way through the fog that drifted about around them. In truth, the little pumpkin was a little story itself. There was a small point bonus for if you and your tokota wore Halloween attire and so, to try and keep it somewhat bearable, Midnight had bought a simple witch hat and bought Pitsiark a horn headdress as well as bought the lantern to go on her collar.

Again, Pitsiark shifted and tossed her head back and forth, as if she had heard something and Midnight’s ears twitched. He could hear things but something told him that they were not the pair’s intended target but rather other things.

Just then, the sound of a twig snapping under forced pressure caught both their attention and Pitsiark’s head jolted up to stare towards the direction of the sound and as Midnight turned his attention around, he spotted the shadow appear.

Before them, the huge figure of a dire tokota stood there, its head bowed and its slightly glowing grey eyes staring straight at them. Before their eyes, the orange handpaints on the tokota started to glow. How? Midnight was not sure… That should be impossible unless the owner of the tokota had used some sort of glow in the dark paint… Maybe that was the reason… He had no reason to believe that it was just because it was ‘Halloween’. No. He was not childish… But that weird nagging feeling defiantly was there that something disturbing was up…

Tested some new things out here. Tried a new way to draw my trees and the bark as well as attempted to draw a pine-tree that didn't look like a sharp edged triangle lol. I also tried to draw fog with my 'grey mist' pencil o-o didn't come out to bad, I'd say. Oh and one other thing, attempted to draw glowy things. I normally don't do glowy things xD

BTW; I am not a Halloween hater. I love Halloween Just this specific handler is a stick in the mud lol
