Well..by the rules of TG comics and captions if the drink is dark, you end up dark-skinned, but that can't be the case, as the drink is pink.
So, another options include:
-that guys inner self is hispanic/ arabian (judging by the shade of the skin tone)
-the soda darkens the skin for everybody (white->hispanic/arab->indian->black)
-the author just felt it's better that way.
-something went wrong and thought the skin was ment to be the same color, technical error of the art program author uses dimmed the color a bit.
