I'm in the same boat as kululu-xiao ! I have plenty of jolles that are good and kind, compassionate too.
A lot of us had good or sweet jolles well before you began saying they were neutral and evil for alignment.

no they where ' evil' for a loooong time, about a year or more even
jrs can have personality traits of being cute and sweet but they still want to rule the universe

Was there an announcement for this change about being "evil" and "wanting to rule the universe" o_O? If so, where? I know the quote under the group icon changed to "joyfully evil" but that's not an announcement for important lore. It's a pretty huge thing to change for those of us who had established "good" characters, and none of my jolles would ever even want to rule the universe. Not even my mafia house of jolles lol, they're still "good" in principle.

I feel you here... Neither of my babes want to rule the universe - they just want to eat, sleep, play, and please their owners. I imagine they could both be a little rotten once in a while, but they're definitely not "evil" or "chaotic" rofl..

Yeah! Even my "worst" jolle is really more of a bitter, grumpy and sassy guy(Hex). He's not innately evil, just easily made jealous. Willing to bet lots of my "good" jolles would be brats and make trouble now and then, like most house-pets and even people. x'D

Jolles can in fact be very good kind and comassionate, just are these traits they show either only other jolleraptors or very few selected beings (for example the person they life with if they life as a pet)
The alignments are more for the broad mass of indivials they don't know yet.

the problem is that JRs are not meant to be ' good'
some species come in only good ( i think minkin are mainly only good for example? and kamishibas i think are good? ). JRs come in mainly evil and we go as far as to permit: okay. they can be neutral :]
they do not need to be mean or anything towards other JRs, normally JRs are nice anyways towards other JRs. it is just the basic alignment of JRs towards the rest of the universe. if your JRs are friends with other species, it would be better to put them as 'Neutral'
the thing is: it is impossible to please everybody, sadly.

Of course you can join the JolleQuest with a chaotic neutral jolle. Theoretically the Jollequest plays in the JolleUniverse which can be totally different to the universe your jolle has been lived in yet. You can have it as an alternative universe or maybe it is their past or their future. It is not mandatory to have them evil and the reputation of the Jolles mostly refers to their relationship with other species... Not their behaviour towards people they like. :> If that helps.

But they could still be lawful neutral or the other neutral alignment I think. As long as they don't go out of their way to help other species they are considered neutral, I guess.
As I said it isn't about their behaviour towards individuals but more their overall pattern of behaviour towards other species.
So like maybe cats can be considered "neutral / evil" from our point of view, as they hunt prey and sometimes play with it upfront. But they can still love their owners and be the best cuddlebugs you can imagine.
The JolleQuest plays within the Jolleverse and you can decide for yourself if you want that as canon for your lovebug or not. It is just a necessarity to keep the lore intact and the overall concept of the species. Like... maybe as an example... A cat is a carnivore and you can't easily decide that your cat OC is a herbivore now, since it doesn't make sense within that species biological rules. Sure you can do that for an OC but it still will be considered a weird exeption. It is a little similar with JRs in that point.

for now you only need a few infos on your character ( the basic characteristic)
JR lore is build to fit any background story of a character actually!
only do not forget that they are basically never 'pure Good'
they can be neutral ( so, helpefull for others)
but never ' good'
from the cahracter traits they can be anything, though: from stupid to smart, sassy, derpy, cute, cuddly, angry, chill
