Description
This is my first ever Painter colored pic...The shading and blending isn't fantastic, but bare with me, this is my first try with this program...
I felt like I hadn't drawn Moko in a while, so here she is, fixing that long hair of hers with...bobby pins...somehow I don't think that's going to pin everything...but meh...I sometimes don't think before I sketch
Sketch was done on paper with col-erase blue pencils...
Hope you'll like it!

This is awesome! I love the details around where her hands are holding her hair up, and you did a fantastic job on the face!
For some reason, I can't stop staring at her lips..! Beautiful work!

Very nice work indeed. Your skills aren't bound to the program, so do not worry. Fine result!

Oh my god! I love this pic! Though, our views clash with your blending; I love how natural it looks, like you actually painted it from scratch with a zillion colors of paints rather than on the program. *-* -goes to look at your other art-

Cute work - great shading, although the collar bone seems a little to close the the breasts.

Nice, especially for ur first go at Painter.
But I'm curious... why did you use col-erase pencils?

Thally In reply to tingc888 [2007-05-11 14:36:33 +0000 UTC]
Thanks!
Ah I use Col-erase because it smears a lot less than with HB pencils...that and well I've got a lot of them left from when I studied 2D animation...(when doing rough animation it's better to use col-erase, because they can be erased well and they don't smudge )
Mainly it's just a habit I have now, I just prefer sketching in blue

hmm... I'm taking 2D Animation now... maybe I should try that. Hehe. I get excuses for being new to it.
The use of pencils in general is strange to me. I'm used to tablets and programs.
I use light blue prisma but they don't erase well. Could be me though. I tend to instinctively draw dark lines.

Ah then Col-erase should be perfect for you! ^^ The darker blue pencil soesnt erase so well if yo press hard on it, but the paler blue is rather nice when you need to erase You should be able to find some at your local art supplies store (as well as animation paper, cuz heck knows you're going to need a LOT!!)

Doh! Dumb me... i was thinking you were talking about Non-Photo Blue pencils. I have col-erase... I use them for comic work. ^^"
But good to hear art supply stores stock animation paper. Right now, the school supplies the students for free, but when I get back to the states, it probably won't be the same.
