Description
And here we have Neue Karlsland, I have to say the idea of having a country in America be colonized by Germans is simply fantastic, it opens everything for lots of possibilities and ideas to develop.Certanly a really fun map to work in.
Enjoy!

Dear friend, I have a gift: franco-808.deviantart.com/art/β¦
I hope it will be to your liking, as this parallel world brought me endless ideas.
From now greetings from Neue Karlsland Republik

That's really unique. I never realized New Karlsland was a South American country, let alone Argentina, hahaha
There's so many parallels in the SW universe but this one is quite a twist.

Indeed, it is quite suprising, I think this is meant to be related to the fact that a lot of germans migrated to Argentina during the war, but I'd like to imagine that during the Seven Years War (Which is mentioned in the SW Timeline) Somehow Prussia managed to gain The Viceroyalty of Rio de la Plata from Hispania and made it their colony and eventually gave them their independance forming the nation of Neue Karlsland.

that's a reasonable theory. I love how well you understand and can relate actual WWII history to this alternate universe.
I tried to do the same thing with Sora no Woto's setting but that got confusing really quick, LOL

Thank you n_n
Really? why is that?

I'm just not that great at history I guess, haha
In Sora no Woto, it almost seems like an alternate universe where WWII went on for much longer than reality which led to even further advancements in technology.
With less intervention, the Axis made Rome the new capital of the world and rearranged government to their liking. The war became so intense that humanity is almost wiped out by weapons of mass destruction and a fair amount of the technology is lost. The warΒ continues on, but mostly with soldiers and civilians who don't understand exactly what they're fighting for. As a result, nations became confused and mixed up with each other.
That's just my basic theory for SnW. I really haven't tried to rationalize any of it, hahaha

And don't forget: Castilla La Mancha became part of Switzerland (the town shown in SnW is based on the Spanish town of Cuenca, in fact is an almost exact reproduction of Cuenca)

That's sounds pretty extreme and also pretty interesting, it makes me very interested in the series.

Huh, I don't think I've ever heard of Ydrassalnism. What exactly does this particular theology entail in terms of the beliefs and practices of it's practitioners?

ThanyTony In reply to bucue4 [2015-01-20 16:35:11 +0000 UTC]
Of course not, it's made up...to oversimplify what it is:
As the Abrhamic religions don't exist in the SW universe and the Roman Empire lastes almost 400 years more than it did in real life (Being Charlemange its last emperor) so I imagine the beliefs in each region considering the exchange and constant discovery without the opression of the abrahamic religions to stop it, suffered a transformation.
As such 2 new religions were born in Europa, Olympianism and Ygdrassilism (sorry I misspelled it in the picture, gonna fix in a moment ) which are basically modernized adaptions of GrecoRoman and Nordic mythologies respectively.
Unlike the Abrahamic religions thought, they are more a set of beliefs and not strict dogmas to live your life on, they simply belief all those beings and stories were real.
Olympianism is practiced in the regions that belonged to the Roman Empire (Save for Morocco, Egypt and The Ostoman Empire) and Ygdrassilism is practiced in the nordic regions (Baltland, Soumous, The Northern parts of Karlsland and the Eastern part of Orussia).
As to how these beliefs came to Neue Karlsland? As Karlsland is a very open region, both of these religions are practiced there, and when they were given the Viceroyalty of Rio de la Plata After the Seven Years War by Hispania and Karlslanders moved to the soon to be Neue Karlsland, they brought those religions to the zone.

Now that's pretty fascinating. I can see that their was a lot of careful thought and work put into not only the art work but also the lore behind the art. Being a writer myself, I always find world building to be a very fascinating and engaging experience alongside of character building.

Well as you can see Chile is there, however it is not named, but if the naming theme across Liberion is constant is very possible Chile is named "Mapuche" I named it "Mapuche Republic" in my "Unknown Nations" picture right here: thanytony.deviantart.com/art/Sβ¦
