very cool, is there any tutorial on how to use it?

There are hints in the release-notes, I don't know of any tutorials from other users yet

Wow, this is very cool, Andreas! Β Thanks for all the work you have put into this and JWildfire over the years. Β Both applications bring a lot of beauty and joy to people, that is for sure. Β

Ah, slowly you come out with the secrets

Sieht wirklich vielversprechend aus. Auch der Bryce-Test ist gelungen.

Das gute alte Mb3D wird bald nicht wiederzuerkennen sein

DANKE dir & Thank you!

Wow! Way cool! This is something "WE" have been waiting for, for a long time! Obj export to use in Bryce or ????

Right, Bryce should work fine, I will probably start to post some test-renders soon, also from Bryce, I just remembered that I still have it somewhere on my hard-disk

This is great Andreas! Any program that can import .obj meshes (wings3D, Bryce, C4D etc)! Any idea about mesh render times? I convert .obj, dxf, to .stl's for Incendia too! Your hard work is much appreciated!

Hi, which mesh render time do you mean?
For final renders it strongly depends on the software, number of vertices, the resolution, anti-aliasing-options and the material used.
For my personal uses, I work with Lighwave (using the built-in renderer), here render-time is usually a few minutes for a final render.Β

The speed of preview-rendering in MB3D depends on your graphics card. In the screenshot the preview run with 120 fps on my system, I'm using a GTX 970.

Hi Andreas,
Sorry for the late reply!
Β  I guess what I meant is the mesh export time!
Like in Incendia, you never know how long it's going to take!
Could be minutes, hours to days to export a good mesh with a lot of vertices!

thargor6 In reply to CmdrChaos [2016-03-05 23:16:32 +0000 UTC]

Hi,
ok, I got it
The export time is nearly deterministic and you get an progress-bar, so you can guess how long it takes.Β
But, the (IMHO) coolest thing is that you can cancel the creation at any time, but have an option to see the result which was created so far.
So, you have not to wait some minutes/hours to see if the level of degree is good for what you want to achieve.

I can provide you an early test version if you are interested in.Β

Cheers!

Cool! Thank you! I would be very interest in the test version at your convenience!
Thanks much Andreas! I have a few Mandelbulbs that would be great alien spacecraft
rendered and skinned in Bryce and put into a scene!

Okay, will try to optimize it to create an early user-build, probably tomorrow!

Ooooo!! Setup is lookin nice! Too bad the fine details of fractals are hard to turn into meshes. Blockiness persists.

in the way that we can now import MB3D voxel stacks into the mesh generator of JWF

Nope, there will be no voxelstacks. But OBJ/PLY export
