Just so you know, I don't claim this fan character, she's not my fan character. I felt like dolling/drawing her.
People are probably wondering who's Maya. Well to those who don't know who Maya is, she's actually a fan character for CP's comic, Convergence of Fate. She plays the role of a vampire hunter who for some unknown reason hates vampires with a vengeance. She's also the comic's antagonist who's on her personal mission to eliminate Maurice and Jane. But the comic never finished to know what becomes of Maya aside from her plotting how to destroy Maurice and Jane.

Keep in mind, her design was inconsistent in the comic since at times she didn't have the rest of her hair that wasn't up in a pony tail, other times she didn't have a choker and it either changed to a bell or a license-like color. Sometimes it had rhinestones or not. Even her gloves were inconsistent. So most of this I winged it.
I decided to doll her because she piqued my interest. And I feel bad that this character gets even less attention/fanart than Tatiz. Maya has less depth to her considering she has no backstory as to why she hates vampires so much and why she dislikes Jane since they're both vampire hunters. But Maya has some potential. I'm personally thinking about making a redesign of her to fix any problems because I don't know if she's a fox or a cat (and she looks like a love child of Tails and Blaze). Also how her hair is drawn says hedgehog to me as well. I also will give her a bio as well.
I left her colorless because I don't know her actual colors since she's just a sketch, but I did made a colored version for fun. Keep it mind it's not her actual colors. sta.sh/0bmalda3uww
EDIT 2: So I stumbled upon things in relations with Maya recently that I felt like coming back and sharing as well as reassess this character. Using the waybackmachine I found an old journal of Ak*iD*lia's where she was looking for character to pose as vampire hunters in her Convergence of Fate comic along with the winners containing the fan character's names and owners. Maya turns out to be a snow fox and her colors were not what I guessed. I'm glad I satisfied my long standing question of if Maya was a cat or a fox. I guess the furry muzzle screamed fox, but the tail threw me off.
So I want to place my own reformed thoughts on Maya. This is just my own personal thoughts on the matter, not mean to speak out what's on everyone's mind. Thinking back to that comic, I personally think Maya carried that no-where comic better than even the protagonists. Let me lay down some context on what I mean by this. The two main characters of CoF were rather bland and inconsistent. Some of their reactions and actions seem to deviate to where the results made no sense.
Here are some examples:
-Maurice had no reason to kidnap Akai when the vampire hunters were preparing to fire their weapons at him. When you are in a life or death situation, your first response wouldn't be "I have to take her with me!" It would be, "I gotta get the hell out of here!" Akai would've been fine, perhaps taken in to be asked some questions, but she might have someone stay with her to protect her.
-Akai's obliviousness and gullibility was more senseless than innocent, especially given her vampire hunter occupation. I don't mind negative traits as it gave her something almost relatable, but her occupation canceled it out. As a vampire hunter, she would've been trained to be perceptive as she would've learned from her instructors on how to tell a vampire when they see one. So for Akai to be called an expert vampire hunter yet not see the signs of Maurice being a vampire, and being gullible enough to believe his lies just makes the whole situations raise your eyebrows. I could be okay with it if she claimed she was a novice vampire hunter in training, but because that wasn't used, it kinda made Akai appear dumber than she should've.
-This was probably the most maddening--So Maurice leaves Akai alone after being snubbed and scaring Akai and she's all like "good riddance". But then she goes through her day hallucinating on memories of Maurice being there when he's not and it makes her upset until she goes through an epiphany that she had *(Que the song I've) Grown Accustomed to His Face.* So she runs out, doesn't know where to go find him until the wind directed her (I got Pocahontas vibes from that scene) into the right directions. Skip forward, she finds him in an abandoned house in the middle of the woods, cries in his embrace, says "I will gladly bear your children just don't die". And at the drop of a hat, she stop crying, breaks the embrace and says, "No, I can't be with you. You lied and kidnapped me." Then why did you go through all that trouble and trekked all the way there just to change your mind? Even when Maurice cried and begged her on his knees, she still rejected him. That was a WTH moment.
So after pointing all of this out, I still stand by that Maya carried this story better. Maya had more going for her even in the few sparse scenes/panels she had, she had more mystery and dynamics to her. Considering she doesn't have a backstory, you can only theorize or assume it. It maybe a cliche or something overused, but I theorized that Maya might've been through some trauma in her past like her parents got killed by vampire and that's why she's a vampire hunter and she hates vampires with a vengeance. I know it's cliche but it makes the most sense.
I'm sure Maya's back hurt carrying this story as far as it did. She was a lot more interesting and had mystique to her that made you want to know her more. We knows Maya's supposed to be an antagonist, but even some antagonists have more to them and have better dynamics than the protagonists, Rock and Rule proves that with their villain Mok. So that's why I took it upon myself to utilize that story with my own iteration of Maya. I hope to make something of story out of it but no promises.

Well! I never thought I'd see the day when Maya actually got a little attention! She looks great though--you did a great job on her, considering there are lots of unanswered questions about her, such as her species.

That's so true and that's why I gave her attention. Thank you so much. Although her style in the comic kept changing so I just winged it.
Also I came to find out that she may not be CP's fan character. I checked back in her COF comic and by what I read in the descriptions and the comment threads, she used her friends' fcs and gave them roles in her story. I honestly I thought she made them, but I guess it was too good to be true. So whoever Maya belongs to has us confused on what species Maya is.

I found that deviation you guys were talking about--quite by accident too. its called "convergence of fate by akaidalia (skylar)" by SkylarHirsuta so we at least know that particular character was not cp's. So that does leave a good question, is maya actually cobaltpie's character?
Well, youre right--she's not into making extra characters--but it didn't occur to anyone because Cp isn't really generous with her art, even with her friends. You know how, we take requests from friends or draw gift art and birthday art for some of them. So it never occurred to me that she used her friends characters, but I don't know if it was more of a favor to her than to them because of them, she didn't have to work to make extra characters for her story. which is a shame, it would be nice to see more characters under cobaltpie's belt. But im sure her friends were still pretty stoked. anyway, its interesting to see art of Maya for a change. I don't really see all that much for tatiz, but its still more than what Maya gets.

Actually that deviation and member is new to me, didn't know they existed until now. Actually it was mentioned in one of CP's COF pages, page 49 to be exact. But she didn't proper credit the characters or any honorable mentions, so unless people know the names of the 10 characters and who they belong to, well never know. So in a word to your question, no I don't think Maya is CP's character. Jane is her only character, I'd almost say Tatiz too because I don't think she cares about Tatiz and she did draw her based on another's character out of spite. Tatiz deserves better love and attention than with Cobalt. It's actually surprising that she decided to draw/include her fans and friends fcs for her comic since she rarely draws for anyone, but it's kind of ashame that she didn't make her own characters. So it kinda seems lazy of her that she has to add characters instead of creating her own. And another sad part is Maya gets more shots and more lines than everyone else who are just background characters. Maya looks like she could play the role of a villain well, but Cobalt can't pull that off well. It just seems like Maya is just a bad guy who hates and vexes Jane for some unclear reason.

You know this was a time when cobaltpie would use her art to take jabs at people (and then go complaining about her critic's
Immaturity). So I wonder if she had a problem with the person who owned Maya to put that character in such an unkind light. She kinda did that to tux sonic, when she supposedly drew an "apology" drawing. IN that drawing she made Tux Sonic's character look like a mean bitch and her own character look like the sweet "apologetic" victim who didn't mean any harm, when cobaltpie was the one in the wrong. and in case you aren't aware, its that tux sonic had drawn a birthday drawing with jane and her boyrfriends and amy all getting along, CP saw amy in the drawing and straight up told the poor girl she didn't like the birthday gift, which prompted tux to right a journal, proving all of janes rudness and immaturity where indeed true and CP got mad at her and tried to sweet talk her into getting that journal down. A lot of people even think Tatiz is really based on Tux Sonic's character since the two look so similar, so in the comic, that character was a bad guy whom sonic hated so much that he let her die at the hands of vampire hunters, which is a reference--supposedly--to the fact that tux's character was paired up with sonic. I cant prove anything but the similarity is strange--- sta.sh/02eyy3prp69z ----as I said, this was a time when cobaltpie used her art to take jabs at people...like when she drew jane and sonic flipping off her "haters--twice, because that's always a mature thing to do. So knowing this was her mindset and how she used her art at the time, I cant help but feel but that Cobaltpie had something personal against Maya's owner to make her character the token bitch of the story. But maybe I am wrong. Still you know how overly sensitive cobaltpie is with anyone telling her anything, and I do not believe it was a result of all that drama, she was always like that, that's what got the drama started, because she was so rude to people and then wanted all people to be courteous to her, then the call outs started up. All that drama could have been avoided if she just wasn't so mean to people, and she's still is like that. but all her supporters love to confuse the issues and only say that people had a problem with her character when really she's the one who had a problem because of her character, because she wanted people to treat it like a masterpiece.
anyway end of the history lesson, I cant wait to FINALLY see Maya redeemed, regardless if she comes off as a mean character, because I know there will finally be thought and care put into her back story.

I believe I heard about this story somewhere and seen those mocking drawings she made for her "haters". She certainly didn't handle them as maturely as she doles out how others should act. She ought to practice what she preaches. I don't know, perhaps put some consideration into other's feelings instead of acting indignant. I hate how she acts like everything is a personal attack against her. Like how she thinks redesigns and pairing Jane with anyone who isn't Maurice is hate art. She and her fans obviously don't know what real hate art is. For examples here--hate art would be drawing Jane getting murdered and/or beaten to a bloody pulp either by someone's fc or by Maurice, or drawing her getting sexually abused (not by Maurice), or being bullied to the point of tears/suicide, or over-exaggerating her bitchiness to a defaming level, or drawing her as a big steaming pile of sh*t--those would be real hate arts. I'm just saying in the grand scheme of things, people could've drawn worse but they didn't.
Also this story feels very similar to Aome's. I recall someone who was a former friend of her's (who actually tried to help her) had took part in a Halloween collab by drawing her Naruto FC as Aome's Naruto FC. This caused Aome to lash out, I believe she wrote a journal saying somewhere along the lines of "you're a pig! you should eat shit and die in shit!" but she took that down and this was years before I found out about prt scr button. But ultimately, Aome drew up an apology drawing but it was in poor taste because she drew her main FC Aome dressed as an angel holding a bleeding heart while crying with her former friend's FC in there holding a bloody knife. That drawing made her former friend look like a villain and Aome the victim even though Aome was no better by acting out and posting a journal that harassed someone and I still remember back then that she was quite a c*nt back in the day. Such as calling people ugly and stupid, as well as calling their art horrendous. Man, Aome and Erin ought to be friends since they have that much in common.
One thing that bothers me about the whole "Sonic hated her so much that he let her die at the hands of vampire hunters", wouldn't that mean that he would abandon Jane and his children if the going gets rough? People's pasts tend to come back to haunt them. Maurice still left and never addressed what he did and why he did it. Instead he proceeded to blame Tatiz because of her behavior prior. What does that have to do with him leaving her to die? How does that justify it? And really what is to stop him from repeating his past if he can't even admit he did it before?
Since this discovery is recent, I now wish I knew who rightfully owns Maya. It just seems petty to use someone's fan character to make them the villain just to drag them through the mud, like she did with Katie. Why not just create your own bad guy, besides the stupid twin concept. It kinda reminds me of TLG's concept who made dark versions of Susan to be her enemy. I can't help but draw parallels between the two. And their FC's worst enemies are themselves when you think about it. I mean, make an actual bad guy FC with no relations to their own FC other than to be the bane of their existence, not by using someone else's. Unless her friend was totally cool with her FC playing the villain role, then I won't say anything else but otherwise, it's rather petty.
Thank you, I'd rather make her an anti-hero who doesn't do or like teamwork. Liking to think that she's more than capable. But I see a good character in her despite her being rough around the edges.

Personally, I think she is pretty, but unfortunately has some undertones of Tails and Blaze to her in terms of appearances. Also this character is greatly forgotten so that's why I made a picture of her.

i personally think she's a fox but then again she does look like a fankid of Blaze and Tails, mostly with the muzzle, front bangs, ponytail, and her tail

No matter how I looked at this character, in my mind it would go, "it's a fox, no it's a cat! No, fox! Cat!" And with the lack of any descriptions on Maya and her backstory, she's rather bland except when she's acting like a bad guy. Hopefully I can redeem this character in both appearance and character info.
