Now, time for the explanation!

If Dexter were to somehow get the virus, the first thing he would do is panic, wondering what he'd do, how he'd protect his family from this, and other things like that.

After a good few minutes of panicking, he'd run away, without telling any of the squad (he wouldn't even tell Lily or Blade).

but what he doesn't know, is that running away without giving a reason or telling anyone he's going... Will only worry them more.
