If that was a design choice, i'm sure they had a reason behind it. Never thought about it, not a knuckles fan.

Yeah, the reason was Sega cut the original Sonic 3 game in two games because they don't finished it at time, everybody knows that: the second part was Sonic and Knuckles game, but again they don't wanna have uncomplete the game for the launching time, so instead to correct Knuckles' color pallet errors, they only realease the game without provide a true Super Form for Knuckles, and the result was "Super Knuckles" was only normal Knuckles, with normal hair, normal color, and normal skills, just with speed-uo and invencibility power-ups and his appearence looks only equal as he is normal, but with a glowing shine, and is for this that everybody think that the concpet for Super Knuckles was "pink" but don't, is because Sega was lazy and don't correct his pallet errores to give him a true color-change and sprite transformation just like Super Sonic. Tails had a similar case, his "super form" is not actually "super", is the same poor "transformation" like "super Knuckles", for Tails, Sega only added 4 Super Flickies (and chek the Flickies are true Super like Super Sonic, but Tails don't U_U). Even the Hyper Form for Knuckles was equal instead to be like Hyper Sonic, and for Tails was worst, he only can be "Super" but he don't have any Hyper Form, so Sega should amend this and correct the Super and Hyper forms for Knuckles and Tails for they will can transform just like Sonic in future games or future remakes of classic games.

not everyone, SEGA must correct the Super and Gyper forms for Knuckles and Tails for this game, for their transformationes be equal like Sonic's transformation, they merit it!

dude, just look at the morph ball from metroid. the only reason that was made is because they couldnt animate a crawling samus, and now it SHOULD be a relic of the past, but rather its a tradition. just look at chrome's logo.
same will propably happen with pink knuckles, should they ever allow him to become super again.
dont get me wrong i understand your point completely, but once you make a mistake like that and the game becomes a success, that mistake stays? its a lose-lose situation, like with max payne 3 or duke nukem. Max changed and people disliked it, Duke didn't and people hated it. If SEGA would change this it would upset a loooot of people, especially anyone who made fanart of pink super Knuckles.

Sega could have corrected the errors in later games, yet they did not, and as a fan of Sega i am objective and recognize the mistakes they made, they did not always do the right thing, and have ruined the opportunities and transformations for Tails and Knuckles, that is one of the things that Sega did wrong and i can not forgive it until they correct it!: super-knuckles.deviantart.com/…
