This is ridiculously fucking awesome mate...
Although the idea of a double-barrel Magnum that looks, well, fancy, is one of my designs aswell hahaha.
Although I haven't touched the idea in awhile, might be time for a redesign.

Wait... the cylinder only has six bullets. How is making it single-shot rather than double-shot going to fix that?

Each bullet houses 2 projectiles.
So either you double shot six times OR
you switch to single shot (see the handle on the side) so you got twelve shot.

... but if each bullet houses twelve projectiles, then you're shooting both of them each time you perform a single shot.

each houses 2
2 shots x 6 bullets = 12 shots
Only one projectile ist fired from the bullet each time.
Look up [link] (wiki: Metal Storm) for explaination how this works.

in regards to the holster comment the holster would really just need a section cut out for the blade and maybe a stap running between the two barrels so it dosent fall out

First off, I'd like to note that I certainly dig the design of the revolver, it has a very "New Age LeMat" feel to it. Does the bottom barrel fire a larger round such as a shotgun shell or rifle round? I just ask because it doesn't look like it could actually use one of the revolver rounds due to the delivery system. [Sorry, I'm a bit of a gun nut.]
I love the use of the black and chrome in this picture. It's very striking in my opinion!
Also, back to the design. I like the rear sight! It looks like a MRDS [Mini Red Dot Sight]. Very, very cool of you to combine that with a fiber optic forward sight. Combine that with the apparent weight of the revolver along with the underslung laser aiming module and the tactical rail? You should have a very awesomely accurate shooting iron. [For those that don't know, the heavier the revolver, the lighter the recoil.]
The bayonet is a bit questionable since it's a revolver but hey, why not have something to cut a bitch up with just in case you get bum rushed and can't reload in time, right? Heh! I really appreciate this image and your work in general. Great work.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I certainly like that more than just a "cool image!". I have no problem with compliments though, hehe
That gun for shure is a fantasy product, but even the best fantasy item will appear useless if it does not follow some basic rules of design,(this especiay applies to the old arguments gunnut VS artist ). So yes, I had my thought on technology and design when creating that thing, so here what was in my mind when making this
The two barrels fire the same caliber. The six(*) round drum feeds the upper and lower barrel at the same time. Now there is a trick on the, the hammer and the brass-primer-ish look of the rounds might suggest that the bullets are fired by hitting the primer liek normal revolvers, bu no! That gun is a hightech product! It uses electric ignition ("Metal Storm" could tell you something ). The hammer actualy uses it's energy to create electicity from the impact on a Piezo-crystal, so no battery is needed. Also each of the bullets holds two rounds, you can see the line on them where the second round starts. The revolver fires two rounds at once, meaning that the recoil will have no effect on the second bullet (just like the theory behind burst shots, kinda). The switch on the side enabels to onyl fire one barrel at a time, giving the revolver effectively twelve(*) shot. Other ammo can be loaded, like one shot rounds with obviously a huge load of powder and thus greater power or multishot rounds that are less penetrating but increase capacity. The blade is there because I like all purpose tools, also the balde won't hit the laserpointer when the top is broken down due too internal barriers in the joint. There is still enought space open to reload with a quickloader (thats tested!). The laser itself passes right below the blade, the balde is not in the way even whe the laserpointer is adjusted to slightly point upwards. The gun got a internal calculation system that adjusts the laserpointer depending on windspeed, bulletdrop, etc. (crucial due to different ammo types), the sensors are beneath the front ironsight (the black holes in the crome part). Important data like ammo, distance, etc. is displayed on the red dot sights screen (not visible in this render, but in "making of game model" linked above). The weapon got no attachment rails, the top rail and the bottom rail (with the blade) are purely for supporting the stability of the gun since it is used in melee aswell.
Ok, I geuss that covers all the technical theory I had in mind when creatign it
I'll put that writeup in the description, I guess there are some other peopel who would like to know the technical details

Wow. I think if anyone other than a Square Enix character owned this revolver, firing it would cause them to disintegrate. And honestly, that's what makes it awesome.
Nice work!!

man, I must say that you do a very excellent job with all your work it seems, but I'm just a really big sap for revolvers. Normally I don't like double barrels, but when I looked closer and saw the switch on it, I fell in love ^^. Out of curiosity, what caliber does this beast of yours fire? they look positively devastating....and I like it! XD But I ramble, keep up the good work!

I did not realy consider a real existing caliber when creating this, but the bullet got a diameter of 12mm and a height of 18mm, so realtively small.
I inteded every Cardridge to contain two Bullets that are fired after each other, giving that revolver 12 shot max. How that could work in reality? Well, I do not know, maybe electric ignition like "Metal Sorm" has.
You can see the small seam in the middle of the cardride, thats where the second bullet starts. Ofcouse you could just load a large, one-shot bullet aswell.
Anyways, thanks for the comment

Ok, this is a monster.
Spawned from hell.
Damnit, this thing looks so unhumanly powerful that i would prefer this revolver over a missile launcher.
Beutiful modeling and great design. Outstanding job!
