About: The last thing anyone expected was for a green debutant mage to dethrone the reigning champion of the Terran Mage Tournament who had dominated the arena for the past twenty-four years. The winner of the championship had not lingered for much longer, promptly disappearing and his absence was attributed to the natural shyness that Quinn displayed even during combat. The mage was sighted far and few, generally avoiding the attention he had so stubbornly worked for to gain. What happened with him during the years was an unsolved mystery. The public expected an epic battle during the next competition, four years after the previous, but a sharp disappointment awaited the quiet niravar: he had barely made it into the quarter-finals when the nervous breakdown that followed shattered his chances at even a decent loss. Something had changed this time, and perhaps that grave injury that Quinn had suffered was to blame. After so seemingly easily winning the last championship against someone who was already prophesied to become the next archmage, he suffered a catastrophic loss in the next one. In any case, he ran from it all despite his endearing love for magic, for everything to do with it left a bitter aftertaste now. Quinn was always clever and determined but was far too sensitive and lacking the confidence to get back on his feet from the devastating loss that almost seemed to scream that his victory was nothing but a fluke. However, everything changed when the energy mage begrudgingly agreed to take part in a magical ceremony, more a tradition rather than anything else. Usually benevolent in its effects, something went very very wrong, and the unforeseen consequences of it tied the mage to the last niravar that he would have liked to see now.
