Atop Mount Charleston, perched upon the peak itself, sits the A.A.H.W's largest airbase. The jagged rocks , dizzying heights, and carefully mined bottlenecks ensure a minimum of intrusion.

There are only two long runways at Airbase Cheems, and those are for landings; aircraft rely on the high altitudes to gain lift.

The airbase extends deeply into the mountain, with enormous hangars, fuel silos and mining complexes being built to service aircraft and take advantage of the mountain's natural resources.
