I do think they're just not limiting to the games? I mean pokemon can know more than 4 moves in the anime.

Name an instance? I can't remember any at the moment... Though i'm sure I remember it being said in the anime that a pokemon can only know 4 moves.

It actually doesn't know Volt Tackle anymore. It forgot that to learn Electro Ball. It knows Quick Attack, Thunderbolt, Iron Tail, and Electro Ball as of current in the dubbed anime.

They don't actually show the pokemon forgetting the move in the anime. If anything That move is just not used anymore because electro ball is more useful for them.

I know it doesn't 'show' it. But the fact remains that Pikachu hasn't used Volt tackle in Unova since learning Electro Ball. One has to use a bit of common sense and assume it's been forgotten. And as I said, there have been episodes in the series where it is mentioned by the characters that a pokemon can only learn four moves. They're there, trust me. Please don't make me hunt them down... That'd take up too much of my free time when off of work...

Lol alright. (even if it mentions in bulbapedia that they can learn more than 4 moves and the old moves eventually fall in disuse as they use the more powerful new ones more often. Which would make a lot mroe sense than they suddenly forgetting a move because some unknown godly force only wants them to have 4 moves.)

I you say so. Still those are the rules the founder gave me when I asked her how to pick the moves.

I was wondering what's wrong with bulbapedia for a minute there. I'm sure many a person was irritated that the site was down. It didn't last long luckily. I definitely want to get to the bottom of this move limit business... :/ Either i'm going to prove myself right or i'm going to prove myself wrong. I'd hate to be wrong and continue to spout out falsehoods... :/ But until then, I'll have to stick with what I think is true...

As for that 'group', as a creative fan made endeavor, there certainly aren't any problems with the founder wanting five moves. I think I might look further into it for the sake of curiosity.

I honestly don't think it would make sense if the pokemon in the anime just to know 4 moves. I mean imagine a dog? If you teach a dog 4 moves and then try to teach a 5th move it won't forget one of them. And since pokemon seem to see as inteligent as say- young children (or more, specially regarding most legendaries) I don't see /why/ they wouldn't be able to learn more moves.

In the games it's just so your pokemon won't be too over powered I guess. And to make the game a bit more challenging.
