Description
weeell... not the whole generation, but shit like this goes down way too often and i cant help but thinking like thatespecially since i live in a small redneck town where no-one else looks like me... so apparently even i look weird here. (i do get these weird looks sometimes when walkin down the streets)
And there tends to be no-one of my age to talk about the stuff i am most passionate about (or then i just never run into those people). Speaking of that, the most unfortunate thing is that all of my "real life" friends are so much different than i, so i cant chat with them bout those stuffs (you do know by "those stuffs" i mean Metal). And frankly, i am afraid what i might do if they turned out to be all: "ooh jee duuude, who be this Glenn Tipton you speak off?" so i ques better not to even go that direction and just talk to myself. Well i actually do bring out metal in my drunk conversations with them sometimes, but even then... it kinda goes in the direction of me blabbering away and them being all "cant you talk about anything else?"
perhaps i was born in a wrong decade (i was born in -92). But hey, i must look this from a positive point of view: At least i wasnt born in the late 90's or in the fucking 00's. Those people tends to be the fucking worst (again, cant say all of them. i know some decent ones
But to all awesome metalheads in my generation who may be viewing this: you rule, Stay heavy and try make sure that in the future your kids wont turn out shit.

Born in '97 heh
I had a friend in 6th - 8th grade who mainly liked industrial. I mainly like metal. We taught each other to listen to new bands from each genre and I got her to listen to JP :3Β
Everyone in my last school however, thought I was a fucking idiot. The only people that shared my taste in music was a few of the teachers
Seriously, I don't understand why you would just listen to whatever fad's is popular right now? Why not use your mind and look up some decent music from the yesteryears? I know that many kids are, but I don't really notice it around here
/end rant
Well metal is a big part of my life and my greatest interest (which is why I come off as elitist to some I guess?), of course I wish I had more people to share that with irl. But hey, what are you gonna do..?

ah thats cool. ive never really swapped band recommendations with my friends in school. woulda been cool to have someone like that around
Haha. though ive also had cases of having similar music taste with some teachers. And some other students thought im lame listening such fossiled bands.Β
ah. true. I wasnt even that interested in music until i started actually looking up some artists myself (though this was when i was heavily into old school rap. after couple years turned to metal, weird story). When i was a kid and just heard what was on radio i had no passion to the music. Im sure you know what i mean xD

I remember in my senior year in high school I heard some girl in my class say that "2nd Sucks" by A Day to Remember was the heaviest, most metal song she ever heard. As soon as she said that, I replied, "I've heard heavier." And just to prove it, I put on some Death.Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiM0xL...

I was born in 1998... Thank God I have my two best friends at school with me (they like metal a lot ). I'm more into rock.
But the other people from my school... Some of them don't even know Black Sabbath... D:

I'm lucky. Since I'm on collage I met lot of metalheads so I can always talk with somebody who has a good music taste But high school was like hell...I was outcast who hates all modern trends.

Unfortunately that's like a lot of my friends too, and my parents are the same as me but my mom now can't handle it for too long now... usually there are more people who listen to that new country which I don't care for as well as pop and rap... ugh... -_-

new country? hm. up here its mostly just rap and pop... and emo metal like linkin park.

I call modern country that, but it's so much like pop it makes me want to beat them with each dragon I have and throw my dragon pins in their eyes.

^ Amen to this.
Also, it happens rather often to me - a random girl of my age notices the leather spiky bracelet on my wrist and goes, "Wheee, it's so nice to meet someone who listens to rock too! I love rock and metal. Especially, Nevada Tan and Gorillaz."
(No hate intended, but... you know what I mean. )
...And then she asks what my favourite bands are.

Actually, a group of people on facebook from my town made a group of fellow people who like rock music (can't call them metalheads though) and we just share music we like a lot of it is too soft for me but its nice to know they're there xD other than that I get pretty much teh same reactions D;
And I'm just curious, but what does redneck mean in your part of the world? Cause I'm curious if it would be the same as what it means here c;

Some obnoxious kid at school told me that Iron Maiden and Motorhead were the worst bands ever. I asked him to name five songs by each band. Five songs were a bit of a stretch, because he couldn't even name one >.>. I then proceeded to tell him to stfu.
He listened to Mac Miller and Drake.

I'm joining the party. Even my parents said I should have been born in the 70s or 80s. Hell, maybe the 60s or I can enjoy the whole evolution of metal as it happens rather than getting into metal by skipping around sub-genres.
