Description
Another commission for , this time a concept for a prototype mech suit worn by his Halo OC Emil Jaeger:It's essentially a later version of the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL Mark I prototype exoskeleton from Halo Legends' Prototype, with a few changes, including an extra missile pod, the recoilless rifle in the back swapped for a M68 ALIM-style Gauss cannon, and Jaeger's family sword modified with hardlight technology. The resemblance to the Mark V MJOLNIR is intentional as the suit is meant to include a number of the Mark V's new features, like shielding and AI support.

I gotta say this is the first I've seen you draw something like theΒ HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL, which in my opinion is more akin to a small mech than an exo-armor. But I do like how you made the lower form more bulky in order to compensate for the weight and gear. Also the fact that it looks like it's finally out of the prototype stage I can see bit of a streamlined aspect to it especially since it has a Mk. IV/Mk. V resemblance, which I enjoy. Although when it comes to theΒ HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL I still wonder how the person fits into the thing and how exactly the controls are placed if it is indeed and powered exo-suit.

I think it has to be more of a mech than an actual exo-suit, as it's too big for a person to operate like a suit of armor. No idea how you actually control it, though. Maybe it's some kind of hybrid of traditional controls, some kind of internal exo-frame, and maybe even neural interface input.

Yeah, that was kind of the idea. Thanks!

I'm not really liking the similarities to Mark V[B] aesthetically, but I really like the improvements to the exoskeleton. It's definitely cheaper to install weapons that are already a fairly common sight on the battlefield.Β
Hell, if you put this thing in a game, I could see all it's weapons being mapped to a controller.

I can see why the Mark V resemblance may result in a bit more cartoony look, making it more like a mech version of the Reach armor rather than its own distinct design. Still, it was part of the commission specs, with the specific rationale that the technical improvements made to the suit mirror those of the Mark V.
It was always odd that this one-time prototype suit apparently had custom weapons built just for it. Or they're existing ones from the UNSC arsenal, just really rare. It'd make logistics with ammo, maintenance and such a nightmare and if they were to ever mass-produce the suits (rather than ending up downgrading to the Mantis). The best option would probably be to make most of the weapons detachable and modular.

That's fine if that's what the commissioner wanted, it's only my personal taste that differs. I suppose it would make sense that the MJOLNIR helmets were backwards compatible with the HRUNTING suit, and the rest of the resemblance is similar to the original suit anyway.
The existing UNSC arsenal weapons is likely the explanation for the Prototype suit. I mean, its Claymore mines are the only instance of the UNSC ever having actual Claymore mines in-universe, and I'm guessing actual Marines must have used those Claymore mines before in a similar way to how real-life soldiers use Claymores.
Actually, now that I think about it, a MJOLNIR-scale HRUNTING helmet would look badass.Β www.halopedia.org/imagβ¦

Yeah, I was thinking that it would kinda resemble the mark five in a way as this suit has some of the iterations that would be placed on the mark v spartan armor like better platting, the personal shield, and the special ai neural interface.

Thanks, m8 and I'll add the other details like the ability to be retrofitted with different weapons, the new shield andΒ ai interface when I put it on my account.

The sword looks like a cross between a lightsaber and a forerunner blade. XD I love the design of the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL Mark I Prototype Exoskeleton armour from Halo Legends. I wished we could have a chance to play a halo mission with the Master Chief suiting up for a battle with the mech suit. XD
Nice work on the mech components, especially on the missile pods and the Gauss Cannon. There's only one thing I felt that would improve the picture: The legs look a little too thin and the top is slightly heavier than the bottom...which makes me think that the legs can't exactly support the top. Maybe having some additional knee-guards and armour plating would greatly help stabilise the overall suit?
I love the mechanical components though, it looks quite good!

It's possible that the design is a bit top-heavy. I added a bit of bulk to the legs, though I did envision the suit as being slimmer than the Legends one so as to be more agile. If there's problems with the weight or stability, I'd imagine the thrusters might be able to compensate.

I see, now that makes sense. I was just thinking that this version looks like it might just topple over with a slight push.
But since you mentioned that the thrusters can compensate, that would be acceptable for me.
