Daimao should probably be taller, but he and Kami are supposed to be the same person/same body. So I averaged their heights to a middle ground.

I think that's literally an aspect of being the Namekian "Saichoro"; probably bloating from too many offerings of water (as they view the Saichoro as a higher god than even Porunga), as well as continually creating new offspring.

Piccolo Daimao really changed the series a lot, Before him the villains where an imp who had his plans foiled by underwear and a guy who wanted the Dragon Balls so he could get taller, from Piccolo on Goku is fighting demons, aliens, and gods

You know, Kami is actually depicted at this same height when he's first introduced. He doesn't start shrinking until he starts hanging around the "mortals" more.

Kami is originally two Popos high (now a standard unit of measurement) when he's introduced. Given Popo's pretty consistent and short height around everyone, that still puts Kami at almost exactly Piccolo Daimao's height. It also fits nicely with how giant he looks when he and Goku first meet and his hand is like the size of half of Goku's body.Β
