No, you are not alone...I get upset as well, especially when they tear done an older building from the past. I live in South Carolina and have seen 100 yr old buildings torn down to make way for a parking lot. Makes me so mad.
I LOVE history and they don't make buildings like that anymore.

it's the worst when they just pave it over for parking, it happens pretty commonly here, or they'll just let the lot go wild.

the building is right next to the train tracks, so I wouldn't be surprised in the least if it was a loading dock at one point.  thank you!
