I don't know how you manage to do it...but you seem to have a knack for creating a mood for every shot you take...this one is quite forboding...oppressive even...
kudos to you

great tones...makes for a very moody image.
My dad works for the NS in Iowa. Pretty cool to see one of their engines!

This photo is absolutely breathtaking. And I love the dark feel you have in all of the photos in your gallery. I know it has to be cloudy for you to get these, so do you have to wait for a cloudy, rainy night or do you also take photos when it's bright and cloudy and adjust them in the editing?

where i live is cloudy more often than sunny, so there are plenty of cloudy/partly cloudy days to shoot. i use a circular polarizer (and as of recently a neutral density) filter, which helps darken the skies a little, and i do a good amount of tweaking to my photos too. i have a tutorial for one of the techniques i use here: [link]

That's a seriously hot-shot! Very dark and moody - makes it look like 'evil-engine'!

Faaaaaantastic shot, my man . Now, I'm just getting a little blog thing started, and while I am trying to get others to take a passing glance at it, at the same time, I'm trying to take a bit of a more 'critique-y' look at stuff from dA, etc, and then 'featuring' it (per se) on the blog. You can check it out through me blog if you want, yours is the one I did for today...looking forward to more
