Description
Original “Kannlan class Destroyer” by “Admiral Kruger” [link]Modified by me for a “Rifts” RPG game, the modified version is called the “Bravo Type” it’s a universal hull that can be easily modified to suit any mission, that is, the base design can be changed for different roles before the ship is built, once built for a certain mission, it can’t be altered without a major refit.

The breaking storm.
In 191CE the Ederen colony of Haven was overrun by religious fanatics that curtailed the freedoms of the people, in response the Ederen government declared a state of emergency and sent the 2nd (Solar Wind) Fleet to liberate the fallen world, unknown to the “Star Guard” high command, the separatists had constructed several planetary based mass driver cannons on the planet’s surface, as the Solar Wind Fleet entered orbit several ships immediately exploded throwing the fleet into turmoil, as the fleet manoeuvred to avoid the projectiles the orbital defence platforms launched their missiles downing several more ships, being totally unprepared for the onslaught, the admiral (who had only expected a ground battle) gave the order to jump to Fort Freedom (a nearby starbase) to regroup & undergo urgent repair.
It would later be learnt that the Religious Separatists had spent several years preparing for their takeover of Haven; among other things they had bought hundreds of aero-space fighters and several ex-military warships from a neighbouring kingdom, this would escalate the “Liberation” of Haven into a full scale war that would last for 8 years and see tens of thousands of people, both military and civilian die.
Pulverise the enemy.
In 193CE the high command, realizing the lack of ship to ship combatants in the fleet, ordered half the “Transporter” class Battle Freighters in service undergo modification into what would become the “Pulveriser” class Missile Destroyer, though only a stop gap measure until more powerful classes could be brought online, the “Pulveriser” would serve with distinction, and while no more ships of the class have been built, those that survived the war remain in fleet service today.
