  Levi took a deep steadying breath, trying to ebb away the overwhelming current of emotions that coursed through his veins. He had decided this. He had told himself it would be okay.

    Well, he had always been a liar.

    But now he needed your touch, he needed to hear your sweet voice to soothe his pain. All he could do was watch from afar as you lived your life. It killed him inside, for he wanted to be spending those moments with you, but he couldn’t.

And there's nothing, that I can do

Except bury my love for you

    He had loved you more than he had even thought possible to love himself, but he had had to bury that love, had to keep it hidden deep within the contours of his soul so that he wouldn’t hold you back from living your life. He wished he had just told you how he felt when he had the chance because now you were gone and he would never get that chance again. He didn’t speak up about his feelings and now he would suffer the consequences.

    But Levi loved you, and to see you happy was more than enough to make him happy. He loved your smile, and whenever he was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of that smile in his life now, it warmed his being with enough love to keep him happy for days.

    However, like most things did, that warm, cheery feeling always left him as well. And then he was left with the cold, empty feeling; the one that left him aching for your touch.

    He supposed he could talk to you, let you know that he wanted you back in his life and that he was wrong to set you free. But what was that thing people always said? Set your love free and if it comes back it’s meant to be?

    Fuck that. Levi knew that you wouldn’t come back to him. No matter how unintentional it had been, he had held you back. And now you were free to live your life how you saw fit. Without him.

I long to hear your voice, but still I make the choice

    He would just hold onto the bittersweet memory of you. He would remember the way his fingers ran through your soft curls, the way your eyes lit up when they met with his; he would remember all the things he loved about you and hold onto them for his own sake. He wasn’t ready to let you go yet. He would hold on for just a little longer, all the while burying his true feelings when met with you.

    He would do this because he loved you. And that was enough for him.
