Just some test with the monoshading style...It's really usefull to make quick pics to give a notion about the volume.
Even though i don't think i quite get it yet, i think i'm on the right way...maybe soon...
Oh, and this was made on Flash Mx2004 in about 15 minutes, so, you know, don't expect too much...

there is no shading in his mouth and there is no shadow of his upper lip on his teeth! and.. and.. and those were the only mistakes i could find...

-- Erm? Huh? Care to explain me how's that? Looks shaded from here...

-- Yes, there is. If you look carefully you'll see the upper part of the teeth are shaded... it may be more subtle than what you expected, but that's due to the upper lip volume.
I didn't want it to look like i'm ditching all the suggestions, but i really don't see those as mistakes... if you had said something about his tongue being weird, for example, i'd agree completely. But as far as i can see, all you named as mistakes were done intentionally...

MONOshading! of course it's like doing a shade with a mono... it's something monosexuals do while they shade... its shaded mono! or mono shaded!
