Description
My second tutorial. Discovered this through experimentation so i decided to share with you all.If there is a quicker and easier way to acheieve this effect I'd be very suprised
Comments etc appreciated.
btw please ignore the fact that the eye was painted quite badly, it was a bit of a 2 minute job

This is really great, a fabulous practical application. I'll be looking for excuses to use this effect, possibly in creative and unexpected ways. It's just terribly inspiring.
Very well done, and very well discovered on your part. Excellent technique.

Yeh great man i was just thinking if ppl wanted to do another effect with the iris effect they could put it onto a render>3d transform effect and make it work from any angle enjoy
if you dont mind i have used this on one of my pieces of work. If you dont want i can remove it.

Should be a good one to test out. Looks easy enough. Great effects though. Btw, I could care less about the eye area. It's an iris tutorial, nothing more - nothing less.

The whole eye isn't really good but the iris looks pretty damn good actually.
Just remember that the reflection on the iris isn't always just a white spot. It varies depending on the light source(s).
Anyway, a good tutorial

This has been very helpful. Thanks a lot for a great tutorial.
I do have a little quibble with the highlight you've used though. It seems a little too round to be realistic, and not quite defined enough. Those are only minor pedantic nitpicks though.
Keep it up!
