Description
Decided to give a whack at making a reference sheet, and used my AU version of Chris from Sonic X for this. Thought I'd do more than just the basics and include stuff like different ages, wardrobe, and height comparisons, since this was pretty much me experimenting, finding out how much detail I'd like to go into, and how like to lay everything out. Now here is some longer than it should be info:

Name: Ovi
Pseudonym: Christopher Thorndyke
Nicknames: Hatchling, Young Master
Age: 5-6
Gender: Male
Eye color: Blue
Hair color: Mahogany
Species: Human
Height: 3'0"
DOB: April 6th
Occupation: Apprentice and pupil under Eggman.
Hometown: ‘Born’ in a lab located in the Mystic Ruins.
Current Residence: Eggman’s second, and far more hidden, base located in the Mystic Ruins, along the coastal line.
Voice: Basically sounds like his original incarnation from the Japanese version of Sonic X, just younger sounding.
Alignment: Neutral, for most of the part. Will lean more on his father's side, though.
Family: Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik (cloning source; father), Gerald(biological granfather; deceased), Maria (biological cousin; deceased), Orbot & Cubot (figurative brothers and primary caretakers), Decoe & Bocoe (secondary caretakers), Metal Sonic (figurative brother), Bokkun (figurative brother).

Personality: Polite, friendly, clingy, naive, very curious of the outside world and other living things, always willing to learn new things, doesn't take kindly to others harming his father or caretakers.

Abilities: Higher mechanical aptitude then average children his age. Can store and use Chaos Energy in his body, use it to muddle up signals or electronics(involuntarily or not), and can be used as a Chaos Emerald radar as he'll react to any nearby ones and vice versa.

Weaknesses: Chaos Energy based abilities can easily zap his body's resources if used for too long- current condition and health especially plays a big factor on how long he can use them. Though his body will involuntarily activate them, as it transfers thoughts and emotions into power, which has caused problems for him health wise since he was toddler. However, his bigger weakness is emotional and mental- he fears of ending up all alone, especially the thought of loosing the only things that have given him companionship or being abandoned by them. That fear could easily be exploited, whether through coercion or threats, if learned.

Background: Created through a series of genetic engineering and cloning, and with the help of energy from a Chaos Emerald, by Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik, Ovi was “born” in a laboratory, intended to become the doctor’s future heir. With no surrogate parent or second party involved in his conception and development, his only “parent” is the very man who’s DNA was used to make him; Robotnik.

As Chaos Energy was used to stimulate and fuse his DNA with an artificial egg cell, after many failures from using electricity to do so, the energy fused and altered the cells during conception and development. Because of that, Ovi's cells and body contains the energy.(sort of like a fleshy Chaos Emerald, if you want to say it. just no where near as powerful) However, it remained dormant until around the age of three, and has only escalated as he emotionally and mentally matured.

There were many past attempts by Eggman to clone himself, all them before Ovi ending in failure. From embryos dying off before they could further develop, to whatever very few clones that did make it to the infant stage dying shortly after they were born. After experiencing so many failures(and GUN offing his grandfather and cousin centuries ago), the doctor became very attached and protective over the boy when he eventually came to be.

Ovi was placed in the care of the robots created by his father and raised in complete isolation from the outside world, to keep others from influencing him. During his upbringing, Ovi would quickly be referred to the shortened version of his pseudonym “Chris”, instead of his given birth name, in order to protect his identity if any outsiders ever came into contact with him.

Though regularly spoiled by his caretakers, his pampered life still isn’t without discipline. He is regularly schooled and given lessons, to better ensure he'll be a worthy successor.

Despite being content with his life for most of the part, he feels lonely in knowing that his father is around but is usually too busy to regularly see him and desperately wants to spend more time with him. No other organic life form being present in his life didn't help on the shortage of socialization outlets for him. So, he constantly falls back on the robots who takes care of him, or Bokkun, who have been the only source of affection and companionship outside of his father since he was born- whether it was programmed in them to provide that for him or not.

I tried to draw him in a more "Sonic" like look, if that makes any sense. I especially tried to do so when it came to his body type- smaller midsection and long thin arms and legs, same traits Eggman also happens to share. But unlike Eggman, Chris wears more loose fitting clothes. It still retains the style from Sonic X to an extent but more stylized looking. Doing the color scheme for the outfits wasn't hard at all, as Chris already shared practically the same color scheme as Eggman, including the hair color...

The main sailor like outfit was actually collaborative design between me and Cloud-Kitsune , so she deserves allot of the credit for that one. I designed all all of the other outfits, though. As for how the eyes on those outfits are even supposed to work, well, think of it as like those Nekomimi ear headband things. youtu.be/w06zvM2x_lw Might as well make the freakin' clothing high tech in some way.

I honestly didn't want to use "Ovi" as his birth name, but every other name I kept trying to find that mean "egg" in some way didn't come out sounding right. So, I just settled for it and went with his original canon name being his pseudonym that he is instead referred to in-universe on a regular basis.
