Description Every garbage day I make an effort--if time permits-- to walk around the suburbia hell
from which I live and save odds and ends from becoming landfill.
One time there was a beautiful sofa my then gal pal (now wife) hauled down a few blocks to my place... we reupholstered it with a black and white cow pattern fabric...and voila a downright beauty piece..for the cost of the fabric, and maybe a few sore muscles from the haul. It wasn't smelly, was in great shape...and had no excuse being trashed.... pisses me off.

ahhh but I digress--the pizza table...

I was coming home from work and this time 1 door down there was a gigantic pile of wooden furniture the tenants were leaving behind...
I was in porn land.
I couldn't believe it---was a MOUNTAIN of gems.

How sad.
I took as much as my semi-detached house could handle... and what I couldn't use --I took to a charity shop... these people who were leaving the rented house had vans..but I lucked out.

This round wooden table I painted first... and I made it into a pizza.... someone stole a piece
but I bet the crust was hard!!

enjoy!

this is so cute.
i notice you do a lot of work on vinyl, which is partially how i came across you.
actually i came across you because i'm painting vinyls (my first attempt) for a charity auction. i currently have a glow in the dark kind of piece that i wanted to paint monsters on, so i came across you by searching "monsters", and was drawn to you of course because of the similar media.

this piece, adorable as it is, is probably not the most "original" idea- but id really like to recreate something similar on a vinyl. obviously our styles are similar in some ways, but very much different in others. i figured i should at least ask for your permission seeing as how you often work in this medium. as i said its for a charity auction, although we havent picked a specific charity yet. i just dont want to feel like i am stealing your ideas. or at the very least, i wanted you to know that you've inspired me!

Thanks very much...I'm glad I logged on DA--been a little while...then to read your post -very nice indeed.

Go for it... I hope you get a pic of it before it gets out of your hands--I'd be quite curious as to what you come up with....

thanks again!

I love this table. I especially love the drippings of melted cheese spilling off the remaining pizza into the empty spot. I eat far too much pizza for such a detail to slip by me.

hahahahah ah man this looks great.
I know how you feel about good stuff being thrown out, when there are so many people in need.
I like to recycle pieces of wood, but I don't paint on furniture.
Oh yeah, sorry... but I was the person that stole the slice. A lil stiff but very tasty

well at least now the mystery is solved...

you should try furniture sometime... I bet it'd turn out aces!
The boring part is prepping...sanding etc...

Or try painting on a mannequin leg..whoops...sorry you don't have any....

blahzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz yeah yeah, rub it in.

What are you gonna do with those 4 legs?

I'll probably just chuck 'em out.

lol

well they are not straight...they are bent at the knee... could be a neato platform for a glass tabletop...if i join them up-- or having them attached to the wall going up a stairway...

whatever I do I better do a good job--don't come across these things everyday...

and sorry about rubbing it in---i couldn't resist

hahah... maybe you could glue them to a base, and paint on them. Thats what I would do.
