Description A bit early, but it is technically next week. Anyway, this is Thresher, my gigantic armored shark and swordfish hybrid kaiju. The picture, like Stryker’s, looks simply enough, but wasn’t, especially for only my third. There’s a total of three: Thresher, the Atlantis resort, and the dust cloud. The dust cloud is a modified picture of this ([link] ) and wasn’t easy to make look like how it is in the picture. Not long ago, drew Thresher in part of an art trade, so he gets all credit for the picture used.

Thresher
Height: 100 meters
Length: 140 meters
Mass: 63,000 tons

Location: Atlantic Ocean
Classification: Man-Made / Alien
Alliance: None
Food: Human, Fish, Kaiju

Bio: Atlantis has been a legend for almost as long as man has lived. In actuality, however, this empire was a union between a Greek-like civilization and an alien race that hoped that, someday, a more powerful bond would be created. Before this dream could fully be reached, a second race of aliens, the Nebulans, began to threaten the Earth. An empire of insects could strike the blue planet at any time, but Atlantis had already begun work on a guardian, an artificial guardian. Enter Thresher, a bipedal shark-like creature with a high level of intelligence and the greatest fighting spirit on Earth. Thresher was trained to be a true warrior with a never say die attitude, but some point in his training, something snapped. He turned on his creators and destroyed the civilization. Using his human intelligence, shark aggression, unique powers, and high defenses, the monster continued to destroy the surface world. He’s attacked dozens of populations over the following centuries. The Roanoke Colony of 1587 is just one of many unexplained mass disappearances that Thresher has on his belt, others include everything from missing military squadrons to over half of the events in Bermuda Triangle. However, in the modern age, Thresher has turned his eyes on an island paradise that, ironically, is named after his place of origin. Rising from the depths, Thresher attacked the world famous Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas and managed to destroy half of the resort before his actions gained the attention of a resting hero: Taninim. The famous superhero-like kaiju rose from the sea and the fight was quickly on. While Thresher had more powers, Taninim proved to be the smarter of the two and defeated him with a combination of his Ion Flash and Ion Bubbles. While Thresher vanished beneath the waves, he was far from dead. He has reared his armored head on more than one occasion, but the boys and girls at the Anti-Kaiju Defense Forces have managed to keep him at bay, at least for now.

Powers: Thresher is a lethal adversary at both ranged and melee attacks. He is powered by the water and as long as he is in a decent range of it, he is near invincible. While unable to control water, he draws power from it. This allows him to heal not just damage done, but keep his stamina up. In a ranged battle, Thresher relies on his Sentinel Beam: a beam of blue and purple swirling energy that explodes on his targets and grows in power the longer he fires. However, the longer he fires this beam, the damage that he had healed and stamina he regained will slowly begin to revert back. His tail is much like that of a thresher shark’s and makes for a perfect weapon to deal slicing damage to his foes. His teeth are all dagger-like and begin to re-grow almost instantly after falling out. His most lethal attack, however, is his large sword. Mounted on his head, this sword is perfect for slicing and stabbing. It’s also extremely thick and strong, making it practically unbreakable by mortal means. Thresher, being half human, is extremely smart. He can set traps unlike that of most kaiju and can solve problems and challenges in mere seconds. Not only is his smart, but also fast. Capable of leaping and running at decent speeds, Thresher’s speed in the water is even greater. Swimming at speeds of excess of 100 knots, Thresher is the second fastest swimming kaiju, surpassed only by Dunkleoder. His armor, while not overly great, is hard enough to protect him from ranged attacks for quite some time before breaking.

Theme Song: Deepest Bluest ([link] )
Human Quote: “We’re gonna’ need a bigger boat.”

A swordfish-like shark kaiju was on my mind for several months before I actually decided to start work on it. Honestly, I really didn’t get motivated to do Thresher until the TV commercials for Strange Wilderness (a hilarious movie by the way) began to air the commercial with the close up of the sand tiger. While I had always had the basic design of Thresher (a bipedal shark with blue swordfish-like skin that acts like armor), his powers have been tweaked a few times, as has his origin. Originally he was just an alien made monster used as a weapon and was equipped with a simple beam, I had just devised the newly revamped origin and Sentinel Beam last week. While creating him, I wanted Thresher to be completely different compared to other shark kaiju, especially Omegarex24’s Carcharius. I think he has turned into a nice kaiju that has a semi-Gamera origin with a new spin and a unique shark kaiju with an interesting style.

gets all the credit for the image of Thresher used and that image can be found here: [link]

Wow, that must have taken a while to put together! It came out very nicely, though, I must say.

(You listed him as Bid Cattie in the bio, though. XD)

Thanks. Honestly though, the only REAL challenge was the dust. The rest was just cutting out and toying with the colors and such. The dust was just a major league pain in the ass.

And whoops. I simply copy and pasted BC's bio so I wouldn't have to constantly redo the bold tags. Fixed.
