This one was requested by Reddit user IGotHurt . I've actually heard a lot of complaints about this Pokemon's design over the years. Personally I don't think it looks "bad", it's just a weird direction for its previous evolution. The jump from Rhyhorn to Rhydon seems natural, but the jump from Rhydon to Rhyperior feels like the evolution suddenly goes off the rails with this weird, almost futuristic space marine armor theme.Since Rhyhorn and Rhydon have a prehistoric dinosaur look, I kept with the theme and took Rhyperior back to the stone age. His "armor" is more basic and tribal in design. I kept the oranges and browns to indicate his ground/rock typing. I angled his "drills" upward to closer resemble Rhydon's, just because I think the giant forward-facing nose drill looks awkward. Returned his ears and cheek spikes to him and elongated them. Added spikes to his tail to make him more menacing and balance the white sections.
Is it better? Worse? Personally I'm not sure. I struggled with this one quite a bit.
