Android 16 and Dragon Ball belongs to Toei and Akira Toriyama

Appearance: Android 16

Backstory:

Android 16 was one of Gero's rather dubious projects. Based on the appearance of his fallen son Gevo, A gentle but powerful being, Gero wished him to remain inactive but, with Android 17 and 18's curiosity and rebellion against Gero, they released 16 and soon the trio ventured around, battling the Z-Fighters who wished for their destruction. However, as Cell arose to target them, though soon Cell would actually end up absorbing future versions of the androids, and then with his sudden increases of power battered the Androids until he was convinced to hold off on fighting them, instead focusing on the Cell Games.

Bulma would come in to repair the androids, including 16, whom she upgraded and removed some of Gero's programming to ensure cooperation. Soon they'd gather at the site of the Cell games, which went from a sporty competition to a full deathmatch. During the events Android 16 tried to self destruct with Cell... unfortunately Bulma had removed his bomb, and soon Cell destroyed 16's body, leaving him a head.

As the chaos escalated, 16 would convince a visitor to the games, one Hercule Satan, to throw his remaining parts close to Gohan. There, as Gohan cowered and held the injured Videl, the android would give a speech to the young Gohan to encourage him to fight. His speech finished, Cell stepped on 16's head, crushing it and putting him out, and thus igniting Gohan's spark.

Some time after the events, and with Bulma gaining access to the Gero's research, she'd soon rebuild 16. Now like fellow androids 17 and 8, Android 16 now spends his times defending nature, though when it's needed he goes out to fight
