Basis: Roy Harper in comics(New Earth, New 52, Prime Earth, etc)
Roy Harper had been a youth with trouble, though he'd find help at a Native American Reservation among other groups. However his luck would change with a chance encounter with Oliver Queen. The rich man was intrigued and impressed with Roy's skill, and recruited him as a sidekick to Green Arrow, known as Speedy. They would go on adventures with Speedy even becoming a member of the earliest version of the Teen Titans.
However, trouble would strike when, due to the pressure of Super Heroism, he turned to drugs. Enraged, Queen fired him and forced him to seek help, which he struggled with. However despite all this, he would strike out on his own; becoming Arsenal, a vigilante super hero with his own attitude, eventually gaining a robot arm after he lost his natural one during an adventure. During his ventures with this identity he would overcome his drug addiction and, funnily enough, find love with an assassin named Cheshire. Still, he serves as a hero, if distant due to his hangups with allies, but still works to saving innocents and fighting crime.
