"Okay, just a few more things to add and your new home will be ready to go," said Colin with a smile, looking over the modified aquarium appreciatively. His new pet would definitely look adorable in there, and the glass walls meant he could look in and watch her any time he wanted. He looked forward to her many temper tantrums on that particular subject, actually. Part of what made her such a perfect choice was how he knew she'd never accept her new status as his personal plaything, pretty much ever.

"All right, let's see what you look like in there," he went on, glancing over to the side of the desk where he'd last seen her cowering amid the various supplies he'd bought for her. "Katie? Where'd you go? Come on out, now!"

He peered around between a couple of piece of miniature doll-furniture, but didn't see her at all. "Katie, come on, no hiding! You wouldn't want to make your new master mad on your first day, would you?"

She didn't appear, and he continued searching for a bit, finally realizing she must've gotten off the tabletop somehow. The power cord to the aquarium lamp caught his eye, and he smiled to himself, realizing how much fun she was really going to be.

Bending down to check the floor, he spotted the tiny woman trying to cower behind one of the table legs. "Just where do you think you're going?" he asked as he reached out to collect her. Seeing the massive fingers approaching, she screamed and ran, but not nearly fast enough...
