JENOVA, as Sephiroth breaks her free.A water color piece, with a tiny bit of color pencil! The scan kind of messed with the colors a bit, but I'm still satisfied with it all. ^_^

Solid water color. Always loved Jenova as a villain; mysterious, world ending creatures are my favorite bad-guys.

it* xD not her. It just TOOK the form of a female, probably the form it took with the Cetra, masquerading as a Cetra and a friend. I'm sure it's alien form is coming and that is why Jenova is half ugly but has the pretty hair, since the body is not back to it's original form yet. I hope one day poor Seph gets to be set free from the aliens corruption and Hojo's lies and meet his real mom.

Well, even if a creature has no knowable gender, you go with "they," not "it." Even if Jenova's an alien, calling a sentient creature "it" shouldn't be the first choice. Lol.
I'm not going to argue the identity politics of a fictional world-ending alien Lich who has only spoken one complete sentence to our knowledge, but I assume they lean more towards "female." The few times one of Jenova's avatars attacks you, even those weird tree-shaped manifestations have a vaguely feminine shape. That might have been Sephiroth playing up the "mom" angle, but it's the closest thing to evidence of a preferred gender that we got.

But in any case, my referring to Jenova as a female (seeing as she chose to take the form of a female, which makes it appropriate to refer to her as such) isn't anymore outlandish than, say, someone referring to a boat or a car as a "she". I don't particularly appreciate your semantics badgering, as it has nothing to do with the work I did on this old art piece. But good day to you.Β

Anyone infused with jenova's cells will be taken over by jenova & be used as puppets by her to get rid of any obstacle that will hinder jenova's goal of consuming gaia's lifestream, oh bleep, i think i just described what jenova may do if she possessed cloud, a total party ambush kill during the night when all the party members are asleep & when that is done, cloud will be reminded by sephiroth of what he has done & might commit suicide
