Description Fan art done for my illustration class of a scene from The Eye of the World (the wheel of time by Robert Jordan). Rand and party are not only escaping from the haunted ghost city of Shadar Logoth (shadow's waiting), but trollocs, myrddraal, and the dreaded mashadar!

Included are Rand al'Thor and Egwene al'Vere. I understand that the scene might not be entirely accurate, but I did the best I could without having the book for reference. Plus, it was my first time working with color contrast...

Nice, as creepy as when I read it I recognised everyone but somehow I thought it was Moiraine rather than Egwene.

I can definitely see how you thought it was Moiraine; if I didn't know, I actually would think that too. I think I made her look too elegant xD

This looks amazing. It really captures that creepy feeling from the place. I like how the lanterns give just enough light to see what's going on, but the scene is very dark. Great work!

I've been marveling at this before and now I found this again and this time I'll leave a comment!
Quoting the other comments, amazing and awesome! This could be a cover of the book, the setting looks like it could. I also love how Rand and Egwene are on the front and those creepy things in the back and yet there's that great background and the ground and the sky and whoooo. Colours - great!
Rand's expression is great, maybe could be little more scared, now it's more like "What's the buzz behind me?". Egwene looks good too, really good, pulling the horse to stop in front of mashadar (whose name I always check when I'm in library but which I always forget once I get back home). I thought she was Moiraine by the first glance but then I saw that she's too young and she hasn't got that stone on her forehead nor the rod (which she definitely stole from Gandalf! No other Aes Sedai has used such).
Now I've left a comment! Just gotta ask, what's the original size? Must be A3, there are so much good details and so clear faces and everything, that if it was smaller, it might get difficult... Dunno then. ^.^

Wow; thank you so much for the elaborate comment! I'm totally blushing right now! <3 Lol if only it was the cover of one of the books... I'd be set for life!

I agree about Rand's expression... I was having a lot of trouble with it, but settled for what I had because I had a 2 days time limit :/ And I had no idea what to do about Egwene's outfit, but I definitely see how she could have been Moiraine. (now I want to draw her! wheee )

The paper I used is from a 9x12 sketch book ^_^

<3 <3 <3 thank you for the love
