Here's instructions on how my Patreon and the comic works:HOW IT WORKS
Taking part in this Patreon is very much like playing a "Choose your own adventure"-game book, but the patrons will vote together to see what book - what kind of story, what kind of character(s) are 'played' and which story paths are followed (multiple choices to be voted on during the adventure, usually after 2 comic pages after which a vote is called).
Votes are held here in Patreon!
With a high enough Tier, patrons can also vote on Curses the character(s) played in the story will 'suffer' from, bringing some extra depth and heft to the adventurers.
On even higher Tiers, patrons will gain access to figuring out possible story paths, stories and even their own characters to appear in the comic (I will figure this out with each applicable patron before decisions are made).

Burden (the comic itself) has no paywall and each page will be posted to my Patreon, Twitter, Tumblr and Deviantart. Usual update days will be Wednesday and Friday. The comic will start with an introductory comic chapter, giving us some insight into one of the prominent figures in the Burden comic series. This chapter will be published one page per day until the start of February, when the second chapter begins!
In addition to the comic pages, you will get to see all art I post for Burden; designs for characters, creatures, locales and much more. Interspersed with material and pages for Burden, you will also get to see various fat girls; original characters and those you know and love from anime, cartoons and video games (commissions are always available as well; message me here, in Twitter, Tumblr or Deviantart!).
All Patrons are welcomed, to my Patreon and to the Burden discord server, and I extend huge thanks to all who support me!

Patrons will get to vote according to their Tier on various aspects of the comic as follows:
STORY PATHS
Story Paths are multiple choice polls appearing in the comic where decisions are made on what direction the comic will progress. These are voted for once per week; the poll will become available after the second page of the week is posted each week. All chapters will have many Story Path polls.
CHARACTER CREATION
Every new chapter of the comic begins with patrons creating a new character together by voting on the character’s various attributes, looks, gear, etc.
CURSES
Every new character created has a Curse which will affect their weight gain during a chapter. Voting for Curses is for patrons from Tier 6 to 8.
ADVENTURE CHOICES
Alongside character creation, an Adventure will be selected; “Perilous PASSage”, “An EmbarASSment of Riches”, and so forth - like choosing an interactive adventure book.
ORIGINAL CHARACTER TIER
On the Level 8: Burdened One-Tier, limited to two patrons, you may have your OC adventure alongside the character voted in Character Creation; send me a message and we will figure it out.
All the above Tiers’ benefits regarding Story Paths, Character Creation, Curses, Adventure Choices and Original Characters will come into effect on February 1st 2022, after the introductory comic chapter is finished.

EARLY BIRDS
All who pledge in January will get to populate Oldbridge, the starting town of our adventures, with 10 NPCs (which will appear in various parts of the comic series). These are in addition to the NPCs already found in Oldbridge and the world of the comic in general.
Creating these NPCs will work like Character Creation, except with NPC stats (focusing on looks, personality, etc. rather than stats).
For every 5 dollars (applicable up to Tier 5!) you pledge in January will give you one vote to decide on the features of starting Quest Giver NPCs in Oldbridge, who have a great effect on what sorts of Adventurers will be available for each Chapter!
Tiers above 5 get the following benefits as Early Birds:
- Tier 6 patrons get to insert one magical item of their choice into the world of the comic which can be found by adventurers during the comic (send me a message so we can figure out what exactly!).
- Tier 7 patrons get to insert one monster into the world of the comic (send me a message so we can figure out what exactly!)
- Tier 8 patrons will get to have one Original Character (OC) of their choosing as extra NPCs in the world of the comic (message me and we‘ll figure it out!).
