I can definitely agree with you on the drawing huge dragons thing.
Given his proportions, the shading style, and desperate nature to get that ice cream, I'm surprised to see that you didn't have his head forward and his neck creating fat folds in the process, adds a bit more dedication to his journey for ice cream if it looks as his entire body's going into it.
I'm not too sure about the "pushing the moob away" thing though.
Love the colors, the shading, the pose... and of course, Mr. Tubs there. Great job!
