"Their whispers tickle your ear. You're tired; they tell you to rest. You're hungry; they tell you its fine to eat the blood-soaked dirt. You're scared; they could comfort you, if you'd just stay. They blame your for their tears. You wanting to leave them so soon makes them sad. You don't listen to them, you can't. Soon though, you are rewarded for your perseverance through their grating words. A stark light against the darkness, blurring the faces and blood away. You're on solid ground now, blessedly free of dirt and blood and suffocating air. This is the highest you can go. You're here. Across the small room sits a jewel-encrusted box. The relief you feel is so powerful you can't get up. Your mind's eye can see it now: your little Loved One, asleep safe and sound in the box, ready to be taken home. As you approach the box, you can feel the darkness shrink down to merely an observing, passive presence, no longer active. You peer inside. It's your Loved One. You reach for her. She's not sleeping."
