Nightmares are often a common symptom of PTSD, and Hiccup has had a great deal of recurring nightmares ever since the incident with the Indominus Rex that destroyed Jurassic World and took the lives of many of his fellow park employees. One of those nightmares was very reminiscent of the bird cage scene from Jurassic Park III, and is being chased through a seemingly neverending jungle with no way out by a giant Pteranodon. The dream often ends with the Pteranodon grabbing onto him by the shoulders and then multiple other Pteranodons peck at him to death with their beasks as well as scratch as him with their claws as they glide above him in the water. These kinds of dreams have Hiccup waking up screaming, and usually Jack has to calm him down with some extra help from Hiccup's pet Iguanodon and loyal therapy dinosaur, Archie
