During the battle of Las Vegas against Loki and the Sinister Six, Sherman removed his battle damaged mask and charged through wielding Thor's hammer, Mjolnir and Captain America's shield and destroyed the deadly alliance of his surviving enemies from other dimensions before banishing Loki to another realm where he would remain for all time. After it was all said and done, Sherman decided that now he was going to be a member of the Avengers, he figured it was time he take a major step in his journey as a superhero and reveal himself to the whole world. Everybody knew who the Avengers really were underneath their costumes, so why should he be the only exception? Tony Stark called a press conference to the new Avengers compound in upstate New York, and Sherman bravely walked up onto the stage before giving a speech as to why he was doing what he is about to do, and removed his mask before saying his real name, and that he had been Spider-Boy since he was just a little boy of seven years of age. Everybody had questions now, and wanted to know all about Sherman's choice to become a hero and why he was going public with his identity. Eventually, the shock of Sherman's revelation of his alter-ego died down and Sherman had finally become a full-fledged Avenger
