One of Two entries for 's Ship and Friendship Angst contest! (Spoilers for Mortal Kombat 2021 ahead!)

She had recently seen the new Mortal Kombat movie (which makes me very happy and excited) on HBO Max, and since she had finally seen the movie and knows what happens in it, I decided my first contest entry should be a recreation of an angsty scene from the movie with characters we both love in it! Here is a scene where Liu Kang/Walter Becket is being held back by Cole Young/Barley Lightfoot as he watches his brother in arms Kung Lao/Emmet Brickowski having his soul sucked out of his body by the evil sorceror Shang Tsung/Merlin. Walter is particularly heartbroken since they were supposed to die together in battle instead of apart from each other.

This scene in the movie was actually a shock to me since Kung Lao is another one of my favorite characters besides Liu Kang and Scorpion. I actually had to try not to cry because of that scene. RIP Kung Lao, and I hope we'll see you again in the sequel (hopefully).
