Like a lot of your images it certainly pops right out to grab attention, the dynamic lighting, the sparks and the flames are all eye catching and rightfully so. It's a veritable eye buffet as it were.

The staff looks good, the sparks shooting off are fantastic and the glowing patches of Lady Maulhorn are nice on top of that. It's absolutely an image that plays with a lot of different light sources and makes the most out of each and every one of them

I admit some of the sources should likely be throwing bigger shadows or such but thanks to the collision of lights you're fine.

As I say it's just a very eye catching image, there's lots of little details to appreciate. The glowing parts of the weapon, the whispy faded afterimage of the slashes. It's all very good and you've done well to make sure no two sources of light look alike.

I will say however that as wonderful as that looks it does show up the weakness of the background, I'd almost have said you'd be better without one. The background is just very simple and the great rock croppings can't help but look lazy next to the action of the piece.

I admit that's likely intentional to make the viewers look at the fight more but it doesn't really save the background from looking like a coupe of quick imported shapes.

I would also say some of the anatomy, looking at Dragon's bent leg, looks quite weak. A little too twiggy and stiff, but at the same time I know his gimmick is turning into a lizard/dragon. Though I'd assume that'd make his limbs larger than thinner. But splitting hairs.

It's a really competent piece and honestly you should be proud of the stuff you pulled with the lighting.

The drawing itself is good. It uses the entire space without leaving areas appearing empty in comparison to the action. The body parts are proportional to the characters and relative in size so as not to appear distorted which is good. There is motion being portrayed by the clashing of the claws and weapon along with the effect they create which is both very well drawn and conveys that the scene is in action rather than simply a static image. the background is also well done. it presents three different distances while not distracting attention from the action.

I do notice that the lighting in the image seems somewhat inconsistent. It is Done excellently on the horns of the larger dragon and is present on both characters upper bodies (with the exception of the larger dragon's neck) such as the larger dragon's back tail and legs right until the feet at which it begins to appear more two dimensional in comparison. The left and right eyes of the larger dragon seem off in some way, the left eye is well defined whereas the right one seems to be a light source in the image and blurs art of the face. Finally, although both the background and characters in the foreground are well done it seems as though the only connection between them is the shadows cast from the larger dragons feet and the bouncing sparks.

I dare say, once again, I'll give a critique on this once the contest is over. Doesn't feel right leaving one while a contest is ongoing.

Certainly very nice and dynamic, the lighting and spark effects are impressive to say the very least.
