This was the first time in a while that I didn't use the "one-line outline", where I'd just have the sketch and draw individual lines over it.
I also thought this character deserved a digital update.

Now I just need to figure out how to make it look less "sketchy".

Does your program have "layers" or something. When I watch tutorials done with Adobe Photoshop the artist would do a sketch, draw the final lines over the sketch, and then delete the sketch layer. I don't know, I've never used any professional digital art tool. Only MS Paint and KidPix.

Yes, I use a program called SAI.
Usually, after I finish putting in the lines, I erase the sketch layer and use it for shading.
Sometimes, I'll have multiple layers for different shades or special effects.
