This is what it's all about. The only thing that really matters in life. The cross, do you accept Jesus' free gift of salvation or not. It's what gives me hope to carry on in day to day stupidity.Warning: the full size is VERY large- I'm looking at print options
New scan. Taken with a point and click traditional camera several years ago. It almost qualifies as pixel art for all the clean up I had to do on it- removing lint and scratches and a wire that ran from the cross out of the picture (can't tell it was there now, can you?)
This is a local landmark, it lights up at night. Several years ago some guy from Chicago came into town and tried to make the city take it down for being non-politically correct. The un-funded "Save the Cross" rally was 5 times larger than the "Gay Parade" a month before. And then it turned out that the cross is on private land and the owners simply allow public access so the 'take it down' movement didn't have a leg to stand on. It was great.
Note: this may NOT be used as stock. It has very special meaning for me.

My former pastor once gave us a dilemma. If a government official came in with armed guards, and then announced that all Christians are to be executed. Those who wish to renounce their faith, stand aside. The rest, prepare to be shot while facing the opposite wall. He then said, "Given those two choices, what would you do?"
My reply was simple. I told him that I'd go for answer c. When he asked, I told him that I'd walk up to the official, face to face, and then asked him, "Why don't you kill me face to face, you coward?" Then in the ensuing struggle, tell everyone else to run. It's more important to save the gospel than to save myself.

I liked the one where the ... Russians came into a church meeting- told everyone that anyone who stayed would be killed, any who wished to renounce their faith could flee. Some left. The Russians then sat down and said, "YOU are the ones we want to worship with".
