I love its head. Its small and kind of cute. The huge black eye gives it that cute feeling, methinks. o_q
Spiff feather details too, you used lots of different kinds of textures. Makes it look really neat and it gives the eye something interesting to look at.
I'm liking the flame-esque looking lines off the back, head, tail and chest.

Thanks! xD I was actually looking at photos of Harris hawks and such but it turned out to be like a quail phoenix to me!
Ah, those pesky flames! They were a real challenge for me to draw, since fire has such movement to it, ya know?
