Volkaan, Warhead, Mordread, Feline Fatale, Samson, Lynxx, Alchemist, Amoeba

Volkaan fought the Protectors years ago and was vanquished, returning to his own time and to the war. But his mission to end the conflict was not over. He rebuilt his machine and decided to return once more to the 20th century. Volkaan was no longer planning upon ruling that age however, no, he had a new plan. If he could not end the war, then he would end the life of his ancestor whose future technologies would inspire those that build the Great Machine and gave the men and women of the future the abilities and means to wage that endless war. He was pursued however by an enemy general, Odysseus, who saw the works of Volkaan as aberrations and his latest mission as nothing short of madness. Odysseus felt if he let Volkaan undo the war then all those who died for it would have died for no reason and their mistakes would be repeated. The two battled through time but ultimately crash landed in the 20th century. Volkaan's mind was set, he would kill his progenitor, he would kill Peter Baden, and if anyone stood in his way, well, he was happy to let this world burn for a moment if it'd stop tomorrow burning for eternity. To these ends he built a team to do what no other single adversary could achieve: destroying the Protectors. Pulling from enemies of the Protectors, both old and new threats alike, he created a line-up perfectly suited to battling each of the Protectors individually, hoping to bring them down as a whole. Warhead filled the role of Guardian; Mordread would battle the Green Knight; Feline Fatale a perfect match for The Spider; the enigmatic Samson, secretly the time-displaced Biblical legend, would test his might against Nomad; Lynxx would face off against his long-lost brother Savage, using animalistic urges that had long since crushed his morality to become a skilled and bestial opponent; Alchemist, the former stage magician with a mind controlled mechanical storm of 'Devil's Dust', capable of turning any element into gold, would do battle with Nimbus and the creature called Amoeba, who grows in size and strength with exposure to water, was the perfect adversary for Nimue. If only he could have anticipated the unexpected return and arrival of Beacon and the new Protector, Skydancer.
