Criterion are technically very good, but I can agree with you that Most Wanted 2012 didn't offer much entertainment. I think that if Nintendo is going to make a new F-Zero, they would probably use the same engine of Mario Kart 8 giving the job to a first party team like EAD. Moreover Miyamoto said a while ago that if they are going to make a new F-Zero he wants it to have a new interface (control), otherwise it wouldn't make sense for him to make a new one. I don't agree. Sometimes you have to think about fans too that are waiting for a new F-Zero for a long time and you don't necessarily need to change the whole control scheme to justify a sequel. I hope they're thinking about a new Wave Race too.

If Nintendo can't develop a new F-Zero at this time around, I really hope they're going to give to third party the chance to make a new F-Zero as SEGA did for the last one on Gamecube.

don't worry even Sakurai left a clue by saying this "Welcome back, Captain Falcon!! When are you ever getting a new game of your own?" hes telling us the fact that F-Zero is a franchise that been ignored and yet people want a new F-Zero game and Sakurai is trying to make sure that someone at Nintendo Revives it and get some developers to work on it.

Sakurai is awesome. I hope Nintendo will follow his advice. I'm waiting for Smash Brothers on Wii U counting the days ahead. I'm just wondering who could develop the next F-Zero. I have a little hope that Retro and Next Level are working toghether on that and not a Diddy Kong Racing following the rumors.
Maybe another proof of an upcoming new F-Zero is the new kart (blue falcon) in Mario Kart 8.

Yeah, they completely ignored an entire Wii generation. Same said for Wave Race. I don't know what they're waiting for. Now it's time for both titles to come back!!
