Heh, another picture in the books here! This time, of a particular guardsman I've utilized!

Zephyr Darien Cromwell...

Born to a poor couple in Chanterelle, Zephyr had a very difficult life as a child. His mother had passed away when he was only a few months old, and so his father had to raise the child himself... but each time he looked into the face of the baby, a growing sense of hatred welled up in the man and festered within him, as all he could see was the murderer of his beloved wife in his arms. Malnourished and ill-educated, the young man often suffered beatings and being run out of his own home every time his father had gone on a drunken rampage, which sadly was quite often... and one day, after a particular night when he was absolutely smashed with alcohol, Zephyr's father had ranted in a blind rage how he had always hated the boy, pinning the blame on his wife's death on him, and cursing the very day he came into the world. And with that, any hope that he could someday earn his father's love died then and there... and in his powerlessness, all the boy could do was run away after his father fell asleep in his drunken state.

Alone in the dingy backstreets, Zephyr had nothing to his name but the clothes on his back and the will of the desperate to keep living. Only through pickpocketing and thievery did he barely scrape by each day for years, until one day, a very pretty girl had taken pity on the boy, freely giving what money she could rather than him having to resort to stealing again. This act of kindness from the girl had sparked something within Zephyr that day, and so he would eventually learn the girl's name and what her aspirations would become... Aeola, the one who would become the Guardian of Winds.

Now determined to repay the kindness she had shown him, Zephyr had gone to various libraries to read up on the Guardians and what it took to enlist in their services, and little by little, he would turn his life around as he pushed himself to take on odd jobs to support himself, training to build up his strength, and even taking on fencing lessons to become an accomplished swordsman. In particular, his sword arm gained much praise even from various guards and soldiers among Chanterelle.... but it took multiple attempts before finally gaining the recognition he needed to become the leading guardsman to the Guardian of Winds.

Instilled with loyalty to his Guardian and his homeland, Zephyr stands ready to protect them both against any who would threaten them.

I'd say another Guardian's assistant is in order for the next project... one that is no longer among the living, shall we say.
