I'm guessing this foal is chimeric

Chimeric horses are very rare, more rare than horse Role playing games make them out to be. To me, this foal simply looks like it is 'shedding' or growing out of its baby fluff and getting its adult coat in. I have seen it many times in bays and chestnuts- the baby fluff being much lighter than the adult coat.

So cute! He looks brindle but I bet he's shedding to black. Foal coats can be so tricky xD

Oh and from what I can remember the lighter brown colour was a lot thicker than the darker so I think he was shedding!
