"Doctor!"

The Doctor, who was tinkering away at the console of the TARDIS with glee, heard your panicked yell and his head shot straight up. The last thing he remembered you saying was that you were going to look for Christmas decorations. He had waved you off into some corner of the place that may or may not have even had them. Christmas was not a thing he thought of often. It was a human holiday that made little impact on his life.

"Doctor!!"

Your voice sounded more urgent. Had you wandered off into the wrong room and walked into something dangerous? He left what he was doing and ran down the hallway he had sent you on. He went as quickly as his feet could carry him. When he finally got to you - in the exact place he'd directed you towards, of course! - he wished he hadn't gone so quickly. The Doctor leaned against the doorframe, pinching the bridge of his nose. His eyes closed.

"Do I even want to know how this happened?" He asked, his tone hinting on amused.
"N-No, you probably don't, but can you please help me?" You replied meekly.

He looked back at you where you sat on the floor, thoroughly tangled up in a large string of knotted Christmas lights. You were desperately trying to remedy the situation which was honestly just making it all so much worse. The Doctor continued to stare at you, a smile slowly spreading across his face. He started to laugh. He was laughing hard enough that he actually wrapped his arms around his stomach, leaning forward. You glared up at him. Attempting to stand up just made it better for him. You couldn't even get one leg upright in the mess you had gotten yourself into. You stopped trying to dig yourself out and whined.

"Doctor, I'm begging you."

He walked into the room, kneeling in front of you and assessing the damage. He was still smiling.

"I'm not so sure that I should. I think you're safer this way. If you can get yourself into this much trouble, there's no telling what damage you could be capable of!" The Doctor teased. You pouted.
"It was an accident! Maybe these shouldn't have been such a mess in the first place." You retorted.
"Are you claiming that this is my fault?" He asked, feigning shock.

You grumbled. No, of course not, how could it be his fault? All of this stuff was so dusty. He hadn't touched it in who knows how long. You sighed, trying to shift into a more comfortable position. The Doctor chuckled and set about pulling on the string, getting it off of your legs. But he wasn't getting your arms free. He was actually wrapping the string that was being untangled from your legs around your torso. You made various noises of protest, trying to get away from him, but you really had nowhere to go. When he was finished, he reached down and picked up the plug, putting it in somewhere you couldn't see. The lights lit up, and it made him laugh even more.

"See, we don't even need a Christmas tree!" He said through fits of laughter.

At first, you frowned and looked angry with him. You slowly started to laugh with him after looking down at yourself. The laughter quieted, and he unplugged the lights, actually taking them off of you. He didn't put them back in the box, though, instead picking up the open one and tucking it under his arm. He put a hand on top of your head and leaned forward, giving you a soft kiss on the forehead.

"Maybe having a bit of Christmas around here wouldn't be so bad after all." He grinned, turning and walking out of the open doorway with the box.

You blushed, picking up another box and quickly following behind him to decorate the TARDIS.
