there are inkliners in different strengthes, you can use a small brush and fluid ink or a brushpen (a pen with a brush tip and fillable with ink).

I had an art teacher once who was adamant that artworks should have 'empty spaces' to off set the drawn space. i like the way you've used it here. I have a few designs that use negative space ... i should put them up too.

I'm still working on improving that skill haha, I drew the outline of the empty spaces first...
