The treebeard lichen (Usnea dasypoga / Usnea filipendula) grows abundantly on the oaks in the Mayor's Pastures not far from Eksjö. Småland, Sweden.Related content

They truly are...!
When I was a kid, this lichen was rare and only found in remote places. It was said that it demanded very clean air. That couldn't have been true, for these days it have become quite common, and the air is filthier than ever... Still, I've never seen so much of it grow anywhere except on this site!

The lichen sure is pretty, and looks enchanting! If only the air weren't so filthy, but it seems that this Coronavirus is doing some good for the environment at least.

Well, nothing evil without anything good... Heard that the Chinese are saying that the air haven't been as good for generations as when everything was closed down under heavy curfew. :-/
