Description
The first of two photos of this beautiful mask, one of my most prised possessions. It was a birthday gift from a great friend and was made by another friend who just happens to have a deviant account.Go see her art at xothique!

Thanks, but a lot of the credit is due to the mask maker, you can see more of her work here *xothique

Papier mache I believe. It was made for me by *xothique, you should check out her devient account, she's got loads of fabulous masks. I just took the photo and played around with the lighing to give it the sillve/pewter looks, it's actually more of a gold colour.

When I think of the hours I spent putting the filigree detail on this, I still get cramp in my hands. heheh..
Ah, I love this photo. I really like what you've achieved with the light. You've made papier mache look like cast pewter, it's a stunning effect.
It's so lovely to hear that this is a prized possession, it certainly looked gorgeous on you. I think I might upload a photo of this to my gallery too.

When I look at the filigree my hands feel that cramp when I think about how much it must of took. It is very much appreciated, the mask is so comfortable to wear and fits so eerily well.
I put the mask on a light box and used a flash to get the pewter look, I'm going to see if I can achieve it's golden colour.

Ah, I though it was a light box, but wasn't sure. It's very effective.
I have a few photos of this against dark green velvet - and will probably upload one tomorrow to my gallery, but I found the golden colour very hard to photograph. Good luck with it - my camera kept making it too yellow and I had to adjust it lots in paintshop to get the right tone.
