Well, this is an old one. It was done as a test of a new brand of watercolor paper, which has since become my go-to paper for painting due to its versatility and water-friendliness.So here you have Rainbow Dash soaring above the clouds, free as a bird and not a care in the world. I guess she hasn't found out that winter is coming.
Painted with watercolor on Strathmore 140 lb. 9x12 watercolor paper. Finished on: 3/7/14.

I have to say this. From the single fact that most equines are among the most beautiful animals on earth, animal which by legends and folklore have been gifted wings to fly like birds, shown in several films, movies and lot of cartoons, the pegasi of MLP are the most adorable and sweet looking ones I've seen. That latest episode would confirm. Rainbow Dash with her memorable blue coat and irised mane and tail already gave a striking effect on us since the pilot. But what I love is watching this pony in her element: flying. So, here we have a adorable, cute, flying pony in bliss, free of everything (for now), happy and gliding on the wind. What's not to like?
So much for saying that I find it beautiful and like seeing Dash smiling, huh? Especially with realistic looking wings.

The song "Free Bird" comes to mind. This is really great. I can tell which way she's rolling by the flow of her mane n' tail. And the ground looks amazing from the sky.
